After exploring the Newsie website i wasn’t surprised to see that the page was overwhelmed with articles and videos about COVID-19. I personally watched 3 videos on the website that specifically talked about social media and the impact its had from COVID. the video titled “COVID-19 Spurs Record Social Media Use — But Ad Revenue Is Falling” addressed how while social media sights such as instagram and Facebook have seen a large increase in activity they’ve also has noticed that a lot of companies are pulling their online ad’s. Companies and businesses that promote travel, hospitality, and entertainment have been pullings ad’s so avoid being published near COVID misinformation and because it’s easy to pull seeing as Covid is putting a haut to their business. the other video “In Quarantine, Social Media Is The Only Stage In Town” talks about since Covid has everyone inside most people have turned to social media and streaming services to keep them occupied.

Courtney, I also watched a few videos on covid-19 on Newsy. Newsy has pretty much the whole front page filled with corona virus stories. I like how the videos are short and straight to the point. Newsy also has a lot other cool videos about other news besides the pandemic so its nice they have a good mixture of everything.

Hi Courtney! Great Blog on Newsie.com. I’ve seen some of their videos and have thought there articles were pretty good. This is a great topic to spread awareness to the site. I have thought to myself that they have quite a range of videos, which makes it much more interesting.
